The project concerns the interconnection of the 38 MW “Skiadovouni” Wind Farm in the area of Skiadas, Achaia Prefecture, with the HETS system.
The local terrain morphology, coupled with the existence of numerous private properties, increases the degree of difficulty in choosing an optimal route for the overhead line.
The layout of the route of the overhead line was decided after using topographic data from a LiDAR point cloud due to the dense vegetation cover in the area. This method minimises siting mistakes due to incorrect topographic data.
